Last year, Channing Tatum and crew grace this world with the creation of Magic Mike. That is what the world needed, male strippers. Well, it looks like those strippers will be doing more than taking their cloths off. They will be singing a tune. Magic Mike The Musical is going to the big lights of broadway! This is not a rumor. Channing Tatum confirmed it himself by tweeting “#MagicMikeTheMusical is headed to Broadway.”
Deadline has reported songwriters Next to Normal‘s Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey will write the songs and Glee writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa will pen the actual play part of the production. Channing Tatum and the film’s director, Steven Soderbergh, will act as the producers of the show. No word if Tatum will be making his broadway debut. Last year, the actor hinted at a sequel, or possibly prequel, to the original film. Joe Manganiello and Matthew McConaughey both talk about their willingness to return for a second film. Another movie and a broadway musical! Ladies, this might be too much…or maybe not enough? Get those singles ready.
